Creative Design for Apparel
TARGET
As part of the summer 2018 creative internship at Target, Ivan Gil served as a Creative Designer for Apparel where he developed ideas, graphic concepts and technical designs that achieve overall product strategy, brand aesthetic, quality and financial objectives for the Goodfellow Brand.
During this time Ivan worked closely with the creative team in order to develop profitable, owned-brand merchandise for a 4th of July 2019 capsule collection for the Men's clothing section at Target.
As result of his successful creative approach to the project, Ivan's 4th of July American Flag print Mens swim trunks were manufactured and sold during the summer of 2019. At the same time, the print developed by Gil was also used throughout the Women's, Girls, Boys and Toddlers categories at Target stores and online.
LUNA COLLECTION
UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA
As part of the requirements to complete the Bachelor's of Science degree in Apparel Design by the University of Minnesota, Ivan Gil created his graduating collection titled LUNA.
The LUNA collection was inspired by the idea of a sexy party on the moon, a young Cher in the 70's, the nightlife and the idea of what means to feel sexy.
The collection was designed and constructed in the Fall 2018 semester and presented on February 2019. The garments were made using a combination of athletic tech-fabrics, 4-way stretch denim, sequin woven fabric, crystal mesh and medium weight knits.
The details on the each of the garments were designed and constructed following the classic construction and styling techniques of luxury ready-to-wear.

SUSTAINABLE DESIGN
The Blue Edge Collection is a women’s read-to-wear line inspired by the natural fade of raw denim, the tailoring details found in menswear and the mindset of self- empowerment and growth.
The project includes: moodboard, ideation page and final renderings.

Ivan Gil's skills rely on his strong attention to details and his creative thinking. Throughout his years in the Apparel Industry Ivan has been know for his strong sketching and illustrating abilities.
